I am grateful to the Lord

For the day that comes to greet me

For the sun that shines on high

For the air that freely feeds me

I am grateful to the Lord

For the birds that sing their sonnets

For the flowers that now bloom

For the rain that falls upon us

I am grateful to the Lord

For the wisdom of the elders

For the counsel of my friends

For the instruction of my teachers

I am grateful to the Lord

For the moments of success

And the times that bring us sorrow

For the lessons both can teach us

I am grateful to the Lord

For the care and love of parents

For the fellowship of siblings

For the relatives God gives us

I am grateful to the Lord

For The Son who came to save us

For the Spirit that now guides us

For the Father who protect us

I am grateful to the Lord.

And if these things weren’t there

and if all I had was hell

I’ll still thank my precious Lord

for in Him I am made to dwell
