BEWARE OF BLINDING MIRACLES

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

John 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

When it comes to miracles we wished we could packaged them and have them revolve around our lives so that we could stop them and use them whenever we pleased. This is what the people that saw the miracles of the loaves and the fishes wanted to do with Jesus. Now Jesus did not commit Himself to them because He knew what was in them.

Man when he is void of God carries the fullness of a spirit, just like a glass when is void of water is filled with air. Man was made to carry the Spirit of God within him. That’s the river of living waters that Jesus said those that believe on Him according to the scriptures would have coming out of them. In the absence of God’s Spirit man is filled with the spirit of this age.

The spirit of this age is a spirit of wantonness not so much so because it wants things but because it lacks content. The spirit of this age lacks the character of the Creator because it has chosen to find in creation its fulfillment or what he thinks its going to make him feel complete and full again.

Satan thought that it was God’s creation that made Jehovah be God. Therefore he proceeded to get God’s creatures on his side just to become the father of those that think and are convinced that there is something in creation that can satisfy the inner longings of the heart.

Jesus gives us The Spirit of God which is a spirit of wholesomeness. Nothing is lacking, you are full and complete. All the creature needs to be complete is to be with the Creator that knows for what purpose He made it.

The second way in which a miracle can blind us is by us seeing in the miracle just what is beneficial for our flesh and not what is beneficial for the promotion of God’s Holy Name. Jesus came to show us how to live for a wholesome confession and not for the spirit of wantonness.

It was the devil who wanted to send the Christ of Satan, for us to believe in a God that would give us power and will allow us to claim His promises so that we would be supplied physically we every thing we needed to placate our appetites, suffered no harm and be bountifully provided for with every comfort and gadget.

God is our only benefit because for Him we were made in His image for the promotion of His Name.
