THE SURROUND-SOUND LIFE

John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The earth is the dwelling place of so many of God’s creatures and elements. The air that we breathe as well as the water that we drink resides in this planet in conjunction with all of the beasts of the field, creatures of the sea and us men.

In His wisdom God made this planet to function in such a way that all His creatures are immersed, enveloped and surrounded, every moment of their existence, by life. We exist in a surround-sound life and never take the time to listen. The air that we breathe carries the second by second sustenance that we need and keeps us connected to the activities of the planet and to all the marvels it contains.

Jesus said that the flesh profiteth nothing, but that it was the air or rather the spirit that quickeneth. That means give life. He then proceeded to make the physical setup be an explanation of our spiritual reality.

When here Jesus speaks of profit, he is not referring to the flesh earning money. Jesus is using the word in relation to life. The flesh can do nothing to profit life, which means there is nothing the flesh can do to provide or contribute to life.

Every breath we take we return it polluted or contaminated. Our bodies are not factories for oxygen. Man is made in God’s image which mean because God is a Spirit, man is also a spirit. In essence we are a spirit that is experiencing a terrestrial existence for now. But God dwells in many temples or mansions. And Jesus said that he was going to prepare other mansions or dwelling places or rather bodies for us to continue to exist having the fellowship that we now have with Him in this temporary tabernacle we call flesh.

The flesh is kept alive by the air and there is nothing the flesh can do to give life back to the air. In His wisdom God designed the flesh to be dependant upon the air to teach us the reality of how our souls are to be dependant upon words.

As contaminated, heavily polluted and poisoned air can cause our physical bodies to die and therefore be disconnected from all the graceful activities and awesome marvels the earth has to offer. Contaminated or rather poisoned words can cause our souls to die or be separated from all the graceful acts and awesome wonders the character of God has to offer.

There is nothing our souls can do to give life back to the Spirit. Our souls can only live depending on His Word which is alive and is able to keep our hearts and minds in tuned with God.
