Let’s look at the life of Christ and his disciples to learn a biblical alternative of what would have been admissible to our Lord and Savior. First of all, abortion is a national sin. Is a sin that has been voted into law. If we are going to do something about abortion it would have to be something that awakens the social conscience of the nation. In the life of Christ there is never room for you taking arms to defend what is yours since the only thing that the bible encourages to call your own is the Character or the life of Christ. To everything else we are called to be stewards. In the life of Christ and His disciples there is however plenty of room to sacrifice your life in order to do something memorable in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For the sake of time I’m going to give you two samples of what can be done. One as a community of Christians and the other as an individual.

As a community of Christians we should have been for life by being the biggest adoptionists, if such word could be used, in the entire world. We should have been willing, to take the son or daughter of a stranger and we should have been showing the world how much we delight in having large families, even if the children are not our to begin with. That would have been our best defense against the abortionists. But we failed to show that we were “for life” that way. Where the abortionist is guilty of sacrificing the life of the unborn, the Christian is guilty of not sacrificing his life for anybody. The heart of the gospel resides in 1^st John 3:16 even though we love to quote John 3:16. If those that memorized John 3:16 would live their lives by 1^st John 3:16 abortion and other national sins would not exist in our country.

If you are a church that makes protests against abortion why don’t you look at the life of Christ and his disciples and try doing this: Go to your local abortionist and offer to become an adoptionist on his behalf. Gather all the church members that were willing to protest and get them to signed over their goods, earthly possessions and all their skills to the next baby that is brought to be killed by the abortionist. Let’s see how many of those, that boast about how valuable was the life of the unborn, are ready and willing to back it up with their own lives.

The life of the disciples is characterized by this one verse “Neither count I my life dear unto me” Acts 20:24. As an individual that says that life is priceless and therefore it should not be destroyed. Are you willing to lay your own life so the abortionist stops taking the life of innocent babies? Go to your local abortionist and after offering all your earthly goods to be given to the baby that he won’t killed. Tell him that you think that the crime of murdering babies in the womb is so hideous that you want the abortionist to perform the procedure on you as you place yourself in an artificially manufactured giant womb. And you can even have this televised to raise the conscience of a nation.

These two ways of showing your disagreement with the national sin of abortion is admissible by the life of Christ and his disciples. But the pointing of the finger, the taking up of arms, saying with your mouth and not backing it up with the sacrifice of your own life is of Satan and not of God.
