What's above us is the One that made us. The One that made us is The Word of The Creator. We were made specifically for the image of God which is His Word for no better image can declare what my invisible spirit is like than the words I employ to express myself. When we are fully functional for what God made us, We become the dwelling place of the triune God and He transforms our souls into a city of radiance that is illuminated by His thoughts and concerns freely flowing within our hearts and minds. Once our souls are indwelt by the triune occupant for whom they were created we enter the life of active contemplation. We move, we come and go, attend to our chores and execute our duties but all along we are fully aware that it is in Him that we move and have our being. We recognize and gladly comprehend that it is Him that works in us both the willing and the doing of His good pleasure. We, who thought ourselves to be the main players, humbly recognize we are the spectators (a role which we had delegated to God) beholding and delighting in seeing how The Father sends His Spirit to cause The Word (His Son) who's been made to be born anew in us, and with whom we identify, to grow and blossom to give the most outstanding wholesome confession of who God is by what we think, feel, chose, say or do.
As we occupy ourselves in the reading and meditation of the scriptures 24/7 we come to see the garden of green pastures and the still waters were God's Son in us is fed and made to grow in the fullness of the stature of His heavenly Father. This daily beauty with which the triune God decorates our souls, which is His city of radiance, is what inspires us to move, work, speak, pray, play, provide, protect, promote and do all we can to express his majestic splendor. The more our hearts can behold Him the more we employ our talents, time and treasure to bring to our particular surroundings the best picture of the way we see God taking care of His Son in us. The sunbeams always want to tell of the warmth that's found in the Sun.
The Kingdom of God, as Jesus said, is really within us. Blessed is he/she, therefore, who has been given ears to hear and eyes to see for then you will be a watchman not only to the city of radiance found in your soul but also to the other cities which God has also erected in the souls of your fellowmen.
In the kingdom of God you get to witness what attitudes, thoughts and concerns God employs for every facet, season or circumstance you may encounter throughout the day. You delight in seeing how masterfully He brings love out of you to build, pamper, comfort and correct those you come in contact with.
If you have an inner life you live to behold the promotion of the Word of God within your soul every day you recognize what John the baptist confessed: He must increase and I must decrease. If you are deaf and blind to the inner life then you have no choice but to live for the promotion of yourself and your confession is with Satan You'll want to be a philantropist to all those that admire you and your riches. "All this will I give you if you bow down and admire me, look-up to me and worship me.
THE NATURAL AND RIGHT ORDER FOR GOD TO USE HIS WORD IS TO GO FROM REALITY TO REVELATION. YOU START WITH REALITY(DIVINITY) WHICH IS WHO GOD IS AND THEN CREATE AND USE THAT CREATION TO REVEAL HIM(i.e. REALITY). BUT THAT CREATION IS NOT REALITY IS ONLY REVELATION. THE UNNATURAL AND WRONG ORDER IN WHICH THE DEVIL FORCES THE WORD TO BE USED IS TO GO FROM REVELATION TO REALITY. YOU START WITH A REVELATION(i.e. USUALLY A DREAM OF HOW YOU AND YOUR FUTURE WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF BY ALL THE INVENTIONS, COMFORTS AND TECHNOLOGIES FORGED OUT OF GOD'S CREATION) ONCE YOU'VE ACQUIRED THIS ALTERATIONS OF GOD'S CREATION YOU PROCEED TO GIVE TO THEM THE STATUS OF REALITY. IN THE SCRIPTURES EVERYTHING YOU SAY, DO OR ACCOMPLISH IS A REVELATION OR EXPRESSION OF THE SPIRIT THAT DRIVES YOUR HEART AND MIND AND NOT A REALIZATION OF WHAT PEOPLE CALL A DREAM COME TRUE(i.e. A REALITY OF THEIR OWN MAKING). IF YOU COULD TURN OR MAKE YOUR DREAMS BECOME A REALITY THEN YOU ARE CAPABLE OF MAKING GODS. BUT GOD CAN NOT BE MADE HE ALONE MAKES ALL THINGS AND AND HE MAKES THEM TO MANIFEST HIMSELF. REMEMBER REALITY CAN NOT BE MADE IT CAN ONLY BE REVEALED.
To understand the way Christ responds to the temptations presented by Satan you have to examine the whole life of Christ as is brought to us in the gospels. These 3 deviations, from the wholesome confession, which Satan presented to Christ in the wilderness not only countinued to assail Him during His earthly ministry but still continues to instigate the believer today.
In the 1st temptation the Devil invites Jesus, as he invites the believer today, to use His status, position and power as a child of God to secure provisions for his fleshly appetites. The life of Christ answers the 1st temptation, which we all face from time to time, by acknowledging God the Father to be the Provider and Jesus - the Word of God - His Son - to be His only heaven-sent and heaven-authorized provision. Our hearts and minds were made to contained only the Word of God. And the Word of God only contains the character of the divine One. If we have the Word of God(i.e. the Son of God) we have the provision for which our hearts and minds were made. In the provision of God, which is His Word, we have eternal union with the Provider. That's how Jesus, who is the truth, the way and the life, takes us to The Father.
In the 2nd temptation, which shows the 2nd most common way souls deviate from their wholesome confession, the devil, once again, invites Jesus, as he also invites the believer today, to employ his status, position and power as son of God to use the scriptures, mainly to claim from them protection and safety for our flesh. By looking at the life of Christ in the gospels the response we can gather, from what was done and said by Jesus, is that God The Father is The Protector and Jesus - His Word - is the protection for our souls. When we keep the word of God in our hearts and minds our souls are protected from damaging the Wholesome confession of how God thinks and feels about His creation and how He (i.e. The Protector), who is in The Word that is in us, wants to secure a safe haven for His Son who now resides in us - His temple.
The 3rd temptation, which is the third way most souls deviate from the wholesome confession, is the one that most resembles Gods attitude towards those that love Him, admire Him, worship Him, delight and long to have His Riches. The bible says that God gladly donates his Riches to the heart and mind of those souls that love Him. Now what God the Father considers to be His greatest treasure and riches is His Word - His only begotten Son. In the same way, what the Son calls his greatest treasure and riches is His Father. The devil likes to call his sons and daughters and all the work of their hands his treasure and riches and those riches is what makes Satan behave like a philanthropist. Notice I say "like" a philantropist because the real philanthropist i.e. lover of mankind is only God himself whom alone is Mr. Love. He is define as love just for who He is and not necessarily for what He does.
God shows his power over the vessels of wrath by having them drink of His indignation as He gives their hearts and minds over to delusions of grandeur chosen by God Himself to confine those who fail to consider Him and His Son to be the most valuable possession any soul could have. The illusion of greatness-by-having-plently is the one which most sinful souls eagerly embrace and give their hearts and minds over to. God knows that He alone is greatness and that everything has come from Him and that nothing can exists and continue to be without Him. With God greatness-by-having-One, that One being, of course, The Word - His Son, is the only true greatness avery thing else is only a delusion. But those whom He has appointed unto life and virtue are made able by His Spirit to trust and abide in the One, therefore they avoid the path of wantoness and in the midst of the darkness they walk as lights of wholesomeness leaving in this world a blazing trail of glory for God and His Angels to enjoy.
In the 3rd temptation the devil invites Christ, even as he continues to invite Christ today, who now resides in the soul of the believer, to promote himself and acquire greatness and notoriety by the abundance of things that mankind can forge out of creation. The way the life of Christ in the gospel responds to this 3rd deviation is by showing us That God the Father is the promoter of souls and The Word - His Son is our promotion. When the word of God is in our souls we are delivered from the hellishly grotesque and lustful spirit of Satan to experience the heavenly glorious and lovely Spirit of God for which we were made.
Christ's response to this 3rd invitation of Satan, for us to deviate or abandon the wholesome confession, is indeed the truth that controls all things created. Jesus told Satan to get behind Him because whether he (i.e. Satan) liked it or not, he was going to depend on The Word and "depending" is the most definite sign of worshiping God. From the word comes all things. In order for us to be great by the collection of things we are going to depend on the Word who by residing in the experts and technicians gets to make all things for us. So no matter what The Word does all. Takes care of all and can and does promote all.
