The
Constitution Of The Love Of God
"Knowledge puffeth
up but charity edifieth"
(I Corinthians 8:1)
by: Zecharias E. Castro
Knowledge
can make you become a leader and mentor to some
but
love will cause you to be a father and mother to all.
Knowledge
can make you become a builder of eye-pleasing sights
but
love will cause you to be a mender of heartbroken lives.
Knowledge
can make you become a finger that now points the way
but
love can now make you be a hand that can guide day by day.
Knowledge
can bring to your life great praise from the children of dust
but
love can make you become a builder of bridges of trust.
Knowledge
can cause you to rise successfully far above all
but
love brings down paradise to us who've been cursed by the fall.
Knowledge
can make you be rich and get you the world's admiration
but
love makes your neighbor be rich through you and fulfills its vocation.
Knowledge
has said to us all: "Arise and compete with each other"
but
love now says to my soul: "Encourage and build one another".
Knowledge
will make me believe the world needs my strength to survive
but
love will make me understand that due to all things I'm alive.
Knowledge
will cause me to think: "The world needs to hear what I say"
but
love will cause me to see there's much for which I need to pray.
Knowledge
will show you your rights so that you may watch one another
but
love will show your defence is doing your best for
each other.
Knowledge
can make you become a hill with a great flowing fountain
but
love will teach you to be the valley that holds every mountain.
Knowledge
is good to your soul so let now your mind be adorn
love,
though, is good to us all and is why God lets us be born.
Knowledge
can now serve us well but love has just so much to tell
with
knowledge I rise or I fall but love makes me now lift up all.
Use
then your knowledge to know to which of these loves I'm referring
Self-love
is now disappearing for only God's love I'm now hearing.
Self-love
made Lucifer fall when he sought his own self-promotion
God's
Love can cause men to rise cause Christ for Himself
sought demotion.
