THE STRENGTH OF WEAKNESS

“My strength is made perfect in weakness”

II Corinthians 12:9

In this short phrase of scripture we find as a diamond encased in gold the words that express the victory won at Golgotha, the words that convey to the host of Heaven the intriguing good news of Christ which cause the angels themselves to want to look at the magnificence of God veiled in flesh. Behold this few words! Seven to be exact “My strength is made perfect in weakness”. Behold such truth of which nature itself witnesses to its veracity. Out of the dung of animals and man comes the perfect strength for the budding rose and the fruitful tree. Out of the weaker and fragile vessel (the woman) comes the strength of man’s succeeding generations. Life truly does not depend on the survival of the fittest but on the sacrifice of weakness.

In these and many other glimpses of truth seen in nature we find the portrayal of God’s own achievement. For out of the lowest domain of Satan, out of the dungeon of corruption, out of the refuse of creation, out of us sinful men, God decide to forge the weapon by which He would flagrantly bring to naught the pride and haughtiness of his archenemy the Devil. Glory be to the weakness of God which is always greater and more powerful than all the strength of man!!!
